2. You sign up for newsletters or request information materials

If you register for a Melora newsletter, or ask us to send you informational materials, your personal data will be used to inform you about our products and services. When you purchase a product from Melora and provide your details – for example by asking a question – we may inform you about other products from Melora in the future.

Legal basis
When registering for our newsletter and/or requesting information material, you give clear consent via opt-in to us processing the above data. This is so that we can send you newsletters and/or information material.

3. You create an account (and shop in our webshop)

To place an order via our website, you can register as a customer. You will then create an account that is password-protected and linked to your email address. You enter your details yourself and can change them at any time by logging into your account.

What data
We process the following data:

  • First and last name

  • Residential/delivery address

  • Email address

  • Telephone number

  • IP address

  • What products you've viewed in the last 60 days

  • Your account number/account details

  • What products you have ordered

  • Your last visit and login are also recorded.

  • Payment details

    • We do not process your payment details. Payments in our webshop are handled by a third party (Payment Service Provider, PSP). Through our PSP you can pay securely in various ways. You enter your credit card or bank details only on their secure pages and complete your order there.

    • We only receive a notification from the PSP if your payment has been completed, but we do not have access to your card or account numbers.

If you choose to pay via Klarna
The same applies as above – but we also register your date of birth, which is required to verify your payment. This information is shared with Klarna.
Klarna reserves the right to carry out a credit check.

Purpose
Melora uses your data for the following purposes:

  • We use the information you save in your account to handle your orders – that is, to fulfill the agreement with you.

  • We use your IP address, email address and information about your online behavior to improve our online services, products and your browsing experience. More information about this, including the ability to refuse the use of cookies, can be found in our cookie policy.

Legal basis
The processing of the above information is necessary to be able to process your order - that is, to fulfill the agreement we have with you.

Custom audience targeting
When you order products from us, and have given us your consent, we may also use your email address for custom audience targeting via Facebook.
Melora creates a "custom audience" group by uploading email addresses from its customers in an advertising tool. This group can then be linked to a specific Facebook campaign - only these Facebook users will see the campaign.

4. You shop in our webshop without a login/account

To place an order through our website, it is not necessary to register a customer account. You fill in the information required for us to process your order, and you can change this information yourself at any time.

We process the following data:

  • First and last name

  • Residential/delivery address

  • Email address

  • Telephone number

  • IP address

  • What products you have ordered

We do not process your payment details. Payments to our webshop are handled via a third party (Payment Service Provider, PSP). Via our PSP you can pay securely in various ways. You only enter your card or bank details on their secure pages and complete the order there.
We only receive a confirmation from the PSP that your payment has been made – we never have access to your card or account number.

If you choose to pay via Klarna
If you choose to pay via Klarna, the above applies, but we also register your date of birth, which is required to verify your payment. This information is shared with Klarna.
Klarna reserves the right to conduct a credit check.

Purpose
Melora uses your data for the following purposes:

  • We use the data to handle your orders – that is, to fulfill the agreement with you.

  • We use your IP address, email address and information about your online behavior to improve our online services, products and your user experience. More information, including how to refuse the use of cookies, can be found in our cookie policy.

Legal basis
The processing of the above data is necessary to process your order – i.e. to fulfill the contract we have with you. In the case of the use of your IP address, the legal basis is also our legitimate interests (improving our services and the secure operation of our website).

5. You shop in our webshop and are logged in, but do not complete your order

  • The products that you have added to your cart but have not yet paid for

Purpose
Melora uses your data for the following purposes:

  • We use the information to remind you via email or phone to complete your order.

Legal basis
The processing is necessary to check that nothing has gone wrong in the ordering process – i.e. to perform our contract. The use of the IP address is also based on legitimate interest (improving services and the functioning of the website).

6. You chat with us

If you stay on a page for a longer period of time, a chat function can be started. You can also start a chat with our customer service on the website yourself. Here you can enter a (fictitious) chat name.

PURPOSE

Melora Cosmetics uses your information for the following purposes:

HOW IS YOUR DATA PROTECTED?

Melora beauty understands the importance of protecting your personal data. The data stored in our database is protected with standard technical security measures in accordance with applicable data security standards.

You can only access your account by entering your email address and password correctly. All passwords and sensitive information are encrypted and not visible to us.

Our websites and web applications are protected with SSL certificates. You can see this by the padlock next to the web address in your browser. All data you send and receive via our website is encrypted and cannot be read by third parties.

All data transmission between our website and our processing partners also takes place via secure connections.

HOW LONG IS YOUR DATA STORED?

Melora Beauty does not store your data for longer than is permitted by law and is necessary for the purpose of the processing. The storage period depends on the type of data and purpose.

The following storage periods apply:

  • Website visit data: 6 months
  • Details of complaints or questions: up to 6 months after termination
  • Purchase details: 5 years (legal limitation period)
  • Administrative data linked to purchases: 7 years (tax retention period)

In the event of unexpected legal proceedings, the data is retained for up to 6 months after the proceedings have ended.
